Fly Fishing
Reel and spin casting were first introduced in Europe in the early 1940s, and after World War II to North America and the rest of the world. At first, live flies were used as bait but were quickly overtaken by artificial flies made of feathers, fur, hair, or yarn tied to a hook. Fly fishing is regarded as the highest form of angling in the sport fishing world. Dry-fly fishers, those fisherman that float the fly on the water's surface, consider the sport of fly fishing to be an art form. It is not surprising that fly fishing has been romanticized in several novels and films. The beauty of the dance between fly fisherman and fish will always enthrall, inspire and fascinate.
