Get a Horse

When Henry Ford tooled around in his "horseless carriage" in the beginning of the century, many thought automobiles were a fad that would disappear as quickly as goldfish swallowing. For many years, early cars shared the road with their horse-drawn counterparts, much to the dismay of pedestrians in the city and the country. Even as the autos slowly won the war of the highways, horses were still there, as this photo suggests, to help out when modern technology went awry.
