Wrigley Building at Night

Wrigley Building at Night

The Wrigley Building was completed for the Wrigley Chewing Gum Company in 1921 by the firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst, and White on a spectacular site on Michigan Avenue just north of the Chicago River. The white-enameled terra-cotta skyscraper is decorated with bits and pieces of Renaissance design, skillfully combining the functionality of an office building with intricate, detailed ornamentation. The Wrigley Building is floodlit at night with an extensive lighting system. The intensity of the light reflecting off the terra-cotta facade makes the Wrigley Building one of Chicago's most significant landmarks.
