The Bleachers

Wrigley Field was originally known as Weeghman Field and home to the Chicago Whales of the Federal League. It was renamed Cubs Park in 1916 and again in 1926 to honor the club's owner, William Wrigley Jr. The Field has undergone numerous transformations throughout the years, including relocation of the grandstand, addition of a second deck to increase seating accommodation, and new outfield stands. The Field was long known as being the only major ballpark without lights, a distinction that came to an end in 1988, when the park was finally wired for lights. These "friendly confines" were given Chicago Landmark status in 2004.
